Traveling Schedule, Speaking Gigs, SEMMY Nominations and more
I’ll be hitting the road quite a bit over the next couple of months. My schedule is below; it would be fun to connect with other like-minded SEO geeks, so give me a shout here or on Twitter (where I’m @audette) if you’ll be nearby.
In Las Vegas February 2-4:
This is my regular twice- to thrice-monthly trip to Zappos, a company I’ve worked with since 2001. I oversee SEO efforts at Zappos along with Aaron Shear, a seasoned SEO who’s worked on some of the biggest ecommerce sites in the world (heard of eBay?). It’s incredibly fun working at Zappos and I always look forward to my time there. Zappos recently made “Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For” - a well-deserved recognition.
In Santa Clara February 9-12:
I’ll be speaking at SMX West in Santa Clara. I’m on a panel entitled, “Ecommerce Search Marketing Tactics” and I’m looking forward to the topic. I’ll attempt (in less than 15 minutes) to discuss a couple creative, scalable ways to leverage SEO for large ecommerce sites.
In Phoenix February 23-24:
I’ll be visiting Phoenix, on a very quick trip, to present my company’s internet marketing strategies for an existing client. Wish I had enough time to hang around The Boulders with my family, but I’m afraid I’ll have to skip the leisure time and fly solo on this one. Airport MVP lounge here I come!
In Las Vegas February 25-26:
Back at Zappos land! And again every 2-3 weeks for the rest of the year.
In Portland March 10:
SearchFest is coming up! It’s a fun conference, relatively small but with world-class attendees and speakers. I’ll be presenting on the topic of building a search marketing business, which will be interesting for me in light of my company’s modest, but rapid growth.
AudetteMedia is a small company, we are an internet marketing boutique by definition. However, I’ve learned quite a bit about the process of building a company in going from a single consultant to 9 employees the last 1.5 years. I don’t have my presentation quite figured out, but I’m hoping my co-presenters will shoulder the load: Rand Fishkin and Anne Kennedy.
If you’re going to be at any of these places in February/March, let’s get together for lunch or a beer.
SEMMY Nominations
Also, I was happy to be nominated for a couple of SEMMYs:
Link Building: The Fundamentals of Link Building
SEO: The SEO Guide to Information Architecture
When it’s voting time, please consider casting one for me if you feel the posts are worthy.

Say hi to Aaron for me, as him and I worked together on several clients for SEO previously.
